For Models: YXZ 1000R (2016-2018), YXZ 1000R SE (2016-2018), YXZ 1000R SS SE (2017-2018), YXZ 1000R SS (2017-2018)
1. Be sure the vehicle engine is cool and that the vehicle is on level ground with the parking brake applied.
2. Disconect the negative battery cable from the negative post on the battery.
3. There are 7 total connections that need to be made. Locate the fuel injectors which are accessible from under the left rear fender, and are located to the right of the valve cover when viewed from behind the machine. The injectors are blue, and the fuel rail is connectoed to them. It will help to unplug other sensors that are blocking access to the number 1 and 2 injectors.
4. Pick a good spot for the Optimizer ground lead and securely fasten it. This can be a good engine ground, chassis ground, or the negative battery post.
5. With the ground connection made, unplug the original fuel injector connectors from the fuel injectors.(See Figure #1)
6. Plug the 3 grey Optimizer connectors into the fuel injectors.
7. Plug the 3 black Optimizer connectors into the original fuel injector connectors.(See Figure #2)
8. Plug in any other connectors that may have been disconnected during installation.
9. Route the Optimizer wiring harness in a way that it will not interfere with any hot or moving parts and fasten it with the included zip ties.
10. Connect the negative battery cable to the negative battery post.
Note: The Optimizer is water proof and can be safely mounted in a location where it would be exposed to the elements without fear of damage.
HMF's base settings are pre programmed into the Optimizer for your YXZ 1000 using an HMF exhuast. Before making changes to the Optimizer's settings, warm the engine up and drive it to determine if changes need to be made.
The base settings are:
Green: 1
Yellow: 2
Red: 2
Green/blue: 5.5
Yellow/blue: 3
Red?blue:4
