Yamaha / YXZ 1000R / AIS Block Off Installation Instructions For Models: YXZ 1000R (2016-2018), YXZ 1000R SE (2016-2018), YXZ 1000R SS SE (2017-2018), YXZ 1000R SS (2017-2018)
1. Be sure the vehicle engine is cool and on level ground.
2. Disconnect the rubber hoses from the original AIS plates on top of the valve cover.
3. Disconnect the single rubber hose from the air box and set the clamp aside. You will re use it later.(See Figure #1)
4. Unplug the wiring harness connector from the AIS unit. (See Figure #2)
5. Carefully pull the AIS unit toward the rear of the vehicle and off of the mounting bracket.
6. Remove the 4 allen head bolts from the 2 AIS plates. There is loctite on the bolts and they do not come out easily.
7. With the bolts removed, take the plates off of the valve cover.
1. Install the new plates using the original allen head bolts and torque to OE specs.
2. Install the supplied cap plug over the exposed nipple on the air box. Then install the original hose clamp from the AIS hose over the cap plug.(See Figure #3)
