For Models: Brute Force 750 (2008-2011)
1. Remove the seat.
2. (2012 models only) Remove the Splash Shield under the Right Front Fender by removing the three plastic push fasteners. (See Figure #1)
3. Disconnect the Six Pin Fuel Injector Harness Connection located behind the Right Side Upper Radiator Hose. This connector is difficult to reach.
Note: Pre 2012 models: This connector is not behind the radiator hose and is much easier to access.
4. Starting from the top, behind the air filter box, feed the Optimizer Connectors down along the Intake Snorkel and the Right Side of The Engine to the Original Fuel Injector Harness Connectors. Take care to route the Optimizer harness away from any hot or moving parts such as the shift linkage.
5. Plug the Optimizer Connectors in line with the Original Fuel Injector Harness. (See Figure #2)
6. In some cases, some of the Black Optimizer Harness Sleeve may need to be stripped back to allow more slack in the ground wire. Connect the ground wire eyelet to the Right Side Heat Shield Mount using the original bolt. (See Figure #3)
7. Using the supplied Velcro material, mount the Optimizer to the electrical panel under the seat. (See fig 4)
8. Use the supplied zip ties to fasten the Optimizer harness in a way that they will not be damaged by hot parts, moving parts, or the seat. (See Figure #4)
9. Replace the splash shield and seat.
Note: Base tuning for the Optimizer is pre programmed. This tuning was determined with our HMF exhaust being the only modification. Varying outside conditions as well as other modifications to the machine may require some fine tuning. Test drive the machine prior to changing the base settings. Installation and tuning is the responsibility of the end user. HMF will not be held responsible for property damage caused by improper installation and/or tuning.
