Honda / Pioneer 700 / Defender Rear Bumper Installation Instructions

Installation

!!! WARNING !!! Before working on your machine, make sure it is parked on a level surface with the transmission in park and/or the parking brake engaged.

1. Lower the tailgate and remove the (2) allen bolts on both sides of the cargo bed sides.  Save the hardware as it will be reinstalled later.(See Figure #1)

2. While pulling out on the cargo bed sides to gain access, remove the tailgate pivot pin retaining bolt.  

3. Working on one side at a time remove the pivot pin while raising the rear bumper to match with the pivot pin holes.  Having another person assist can make this step much easier.

4. Reinstall the tailgate pivot pin for each side to hold the bumper in place.(See Figure #2)

5. Line up the bumper with the pivot pin and cargo bed frame then install the provided M6-1.0x16 Flanged Bolt for each side.(See Figure #3)

6. Reinstall the allen bolts for the cargo bed side.(See Figure #4)
