The HMF Universal Snorkel Kit is designed to work with multiple vehicles and can be customized to the user’s preferences. Some parts may need to be cut to length to achieve the desired setup.
The goal with an exhaust snorkel is to raise the exhaust outlet as high as needed for deep mud & water riding.
The snorkel needs to be supported to some part of the chassis, body, or cargo racks to prevent excessive movement.
1. Remove the (4) bolts securing the endcap to the silencer. Carefully remove the end cap from the body of the silencer. Note, there is a large o-ring behind the end cap, this needs to be reinstalled when replacing the end cap.
2. Slide the Flange Adapter through the outlet of the end cap and reinstall the end cap to the body of the silencer.
3. Use the remaining parts in the kit to mock up the desired length and bends. Cut off sections of the flange adapter and other extensions / elbows as necessary. Refer to the included example diagrams of common setups.(See Figure #1)
(See Figure #2)
4. Secure all pipe connections using the provided t-bolt clamps and install the provided heatshield if necessary.
5. Secure the snorkel to the chassis, body, or cargo rack using the provided Snorkel Clamp and other associated hardware, or any other means that provides adequate support.(See Figure #3)
