HMF Optimizer Instructions

For Models: Scrambler^® XP 850 (2012-2016)

Installation

1. Remove the seat, and left side body panels.

2. The fuel injectors can be accessed between the top frame rail and the air box. Unplug the fuel injector harness connectors from the fuel injectors. (See Figure #1)

3. Plug the Optimizer connectors into the fuel injectors and into the vehicle side injector harness. Connect the ground lead to a good chassis ground or to the negative battery post. (See Figure #2)

4. Mount the Optimizer away from any hot or moving parts.

5. Install the left side body panels and seat.

Note: The Optimizer comes with our base settings pre programmed. These are the settings that worked best for us with the HMF exhaust system and OEM intake and filter. Other modifications to the machine as well as other variables may require some fine tuning.

Tuning

Fuel Tuning is absolutely required when installing an HMF Exhaust on this machine. Failure to tune the engine can cause excessive damage to the exhaust system and engine, while voiding the warranty on your exhaust and possibly on your machine. (check with local dealer). See the tuning settings below for the proper fuel tuning solution on your machine.
