HMF Racing Full System Exhaust Instructions

For Models: Scrambler® XP 850 (2012-2016)

Removal

1. Remove the seat and right side body panels.

2. Use a long piece of electrical wire or a spring puller to remove the head pipe-to-silencer springs.

3. Pull back to remove the original silencer, being careful not to lose the gasket.

4. Remove the (4) head pipe-to-cylinder head nuts/washers and head pipe, being careful not to lose the gaskets.

5. Remove the heat shield from the original head pipe.  This will be reused on your new HMF exhaust.

Installation

1. Thoroughly clean the right side of the belt housing and apply the supplied heat shield square.  (See Figure #1)

2. Inspect the head pipe-to-cylinder head gaskets for wear or damage and replace them with new ones if necessary. 

3. Using original nuts and lock washers, install the HMF head pipe.  (Hand tight only)

4. Slide the HMF silencer over the head pipe and into the rubber hangers.

5. Using a long piece of electrical wire or spring puller, install the supplied springs between the head pipe and silencer.

6. Tighten up the head pipe-to-cylinder head nuts.(See Figure #2)

7. Using supplied hose clamps, install the original head pipe heat shield (Outer Half Only) on the HMF head pipe. (See Figure #3)

8. Tighten the head pipe nuts.

9. Install the right side body panels and the seat.

10. Inspect all areas around exhaust for proper clearance and alignment.
