Bithell takes 4th at Unadilla

Chris Bithell claimed fourth at the tenth round of the Grand National Cross Country Series in New Berlin, New York.

Bithell came off the line near the end of the pack at the famed Undilla track. He had to work through the class and made his way to eighth by the end of the first lap.

He continued to charge, and had taken over third position by the second lap. Once in third he worked to gap fourth, and close in on second. Lapped traffic made the push difficult, but by lap fourth Bithell had started to close the gap on second position and was pulling away from fourth with 27.359 be-tween the two racers.

The race lasted six laps through the New York woods, and on the final lap Bithell backed off the pace due to pain in his hand and finished in fourth.

“My Precision / Maxxis Suzuki felt amazing. My new FOX shocks were dialed in and everything felt great. I felt really good until my hand got a little tore up on the fifth lap and by the end it was tough to hold on. I had a great time, and although fourth isn't where I want to be, I am happy to gain some points and run with the top guys for the entire race. I’m looking forward to Somerset and getting back on the box,” re-garded Bithell.

Bithell currently holds fifth in the XC1 Pro Class. The next race will be in Somerset, Pennsylvania at Moun-tain Ridge on September 20.
