From a press release issued by Fasttrax:

NELSONS LEDGES, Ohio – Daniel Shetler of Canton, Ohio and John Daniels of North Olmstead, Ohio showed how to do dance in the rain trading leads in the fifth race at Fasttrax’s June event on Thursday, June 11.

Shetler riding a Honda RC51 in the GT Heavyweight class beat Daniels on a Yamaha FZR 600 in the Vintage Heavyweight class to take the overall win in the fifth race by a quarter of a second after the two slid around the 2.1-mile Nelson Ledges course for eight laps.

Rain began falling in the third race of the day in the rare mid-week event that required a shortened schedule, including reducing all the sprint races to eight laps and running the endurance races on the same day as the sprints.

The mid-week event was a result of cancellation of a race date at Bluegrass Motorsports Park in Kentucky. Bluegrass officials were confident despite other cancelled dates that they would have the track ready for Fasttrax’s June event, but just two weeks from the scheduled date regretfully announced paving would not be completed. Fasttrax officials scrambled to schedule the event at Nelsons Ledges, the organization’s home track.

Fasttrax is a family-oriented club racing, track day and performance riding education organization with its home track at Nelsons Ledges, Ohio. For information on all of Fasttrax’s events and programs visit www.ridefasttrax.com
