Jetting Questions and Answers.

The most asked question is "do I need to re jet?

YES, due to ever increasing EPA emissions restrictions you WILL need to re jet the machine for YOUR conditions.
On most machine applications we provide a baseline for you to start out with. This means we have tested a stock machine here on our dyno and found jet settings for that machine in OUR conditions.

YOU will need to take into account: altitude, machine state of tune, fuel used, any added ignition components, added snorkels or air box modifications, and YOUR conditions to dial in the jetting.

Altitude: we are at basically 895 feet above sea level. If you ride at 4000 feet above sea level for example, your tuning will be different.

Machine state of tune: Several factors are key and differ from machine to machine, how new or old is the machine, current cylinder compression, valve settings, ignition timing, air filter/air box mods and fuel used to name a few.

Fuel: The BIGGEST factor is fuel used. It is NOT possible to get the same fuel day to day from your local station let alone different States. Just try to use quality fuel from a place that has good turnover.

YOUR conditions: Another one that we cannot forsee, your temperature and humidity will need to be factored into your settings. Testing in the 55~65* temps with low to mid humidity is ideal.

**NOTE: one of the new nagging items to throw a wrench into things is owner added NON STOCK ignition devices such as rev boxes or ignition advancers. IF you have a problem with jetting, put the STOCK ignition part back on then see if that was the problem**

I have posted several "how to" tutorials in the jetting forum, print them out and take them to your riding area and do the tests to dial the jetting in.

If you still can't dial it in call us, we'll be glad to help out.
