300ex mod questions

I have 2003 -Honda 300ex. I am planning on adding a sport hmf exhaust with quiet core insert. What kind of sound can i expect? I ride in forest in Ohio. Will I have a problem? I will also be adding UNI air filter. I realize I must rejet. What are suggestions on modifying airbox lid with ehs cover? I ride in forest and do go through shallow creeks and mud at times. I can not go through deep mud for it is a 300ex. Please help with any past experiences. What power gain can I expect with and without removing the airbox lid? Thanks!

First of all the quiet core installed you will run at about 96-97dbs and the quiet core has the built in spark arrestor. Next thing if you are riding in any water or mud i would keep the lid on the air box. Finally on that 300ex you should use about a 125 main jet and you will get about 3.5 horse power increase in power with the jet and pipe and filter. Hope this helps.

I have a 2003 Honda 300ex. If I add a sport HMF exhaust with quiet core, Uni filter, and jet I am told I will gain 3.5 horsepower. What kind of speed difference will this make to my atv. Is it worth the added money? Top speed and quickness? Will it then keep up with my friends stock 400ex?

A pipe won't effect top speed only tire size gearing and engine mods will make you go faster. Our pipe will just get you to your top speed faster. Hope that helps.
