Trying to help a buddy out here. He has an 05 trx450R with a 479 bigbore kit, HotCam Stage 1, Full HMF exhaust, and an FCR 40mm carb. We are around 2000 feet elevation but race all over so I would like to have a bit of room either way if possible, not right on the edge of lean or anything. Im wondering what jets and fuel screw positioning we should try out. We are having terrible bog right now with the jets that were in the carb when I sold it to him from a parts bike I bought. Right now there is a 170 main, 45 pilot, and I dont know which leak jet. I went 2.5 turns out and it still had the bog bad, so I'm guessing we need to try a 48 or 50 pilot. It seems to pull okay on top so I am guessing the 170 is close. Can I get any help here please? Appreciate any info I can get!
