I just installed a hmf full system on my 08 brute force 650i when i ordered the kit i also ordered the track jet kit from hmf. Hmf suggest a 165 front 165 rear jet but when i recieved the kit it only had one 155,162,165,170 the kit also included the wrong k&n filter but when i called hmf to tell them i got the wrong filter they said the jets were the same so i installed the 162 front 165 rear and it seems to run fine but only had a chance to put a few miles on it today will find out soon if problems arise. should this jet setting be ok? Also the pipe sounds great exactly what i was looking for. Also i seen suggestions to turn fuel screw 2-2.5 turns i do not know where the fuel screw is but it seems to run good for now when i get a chance to get back out i plan to do the spark plug test any suggestions i would appreciate

The jetting that you are using should work very well. Fuel screw is typically found on the bottom of the carb in front of the bowl.

i adjusted the fuel screw out 2.5 turns and now it spits and sputters on take off/lowend where should i go from here. Should i keep adjusting fuel screw untill it is corrected? Do i need to change needle settings or pilot jets?

The best way to set them is with the engine idling. Set them to the highest smooth idle, which is typically 2-3 turns out from light bottom.

I adjusted the fuel screw with it running to the highest smooth idle the only way it seems to run good is if it is running lean the plugs are almost white it will run great. If you adjust the screw out to richen the mixture runs like crap there is no in between just to lean and to rich. I had a friend that works as a four wheeler mechanic try to adjust it to no luck. I am so sick of it i am thinking about junking the pipe so i can ride again. Hmf says just change the main jets and turn the fuel screw sounds easy but that doesnt work pay all that money for something to sit in the garage. If i buy a dynojet kit would that work better? any suggestions ill give it a week and then the pipe is going because i want to ride again:mad:

Have you checked your choke plungers? They tend to stick closed on the Brute force carbs after getting a little dirt or rust build up. That could be your problem. Click here--> http://hmfengineering.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1297

I seen that thread before so i have already checked them but i read another post on highlifter a guy but the pipe from hmf and tried the settings hmf suggested and he couldnt get it right until he bought the dyno jet kit so i think that is what i am going to do if anyone else has the 08 brute 650i with full hmf and k&n let me know what you guys used
