I have heard that after putting an aftermarket pipe on your quad that it makes it lose reliability because it takes more out of the motor, is this true? I want to get a pipe but also want my quad to last for a long time.

Adding an aftermarket pipe or whatever will not make a machine more or less reilable.
IF you take the simple steps to be sure it is TUNED PROPERLY it will be fine.
Manufacturers build a safety zone in their products because they know people will modify them.
