Jordan Phillips takes the Limestone 100

Over the weekend we were back in action at the Limestone 100 Gncc located in Springville, Indiana.  This is a fun course and definitely embarks on traditional Gncc type racing.  We arrived just after lunch on Friday and set up our pit with other fellow Can-am racers.  I walked the track with 3 other 4x4 Pro racers and we found the track to be very rough, muddy and slick.  There were very few field sections, but over 9 miles of woods to navigate.  There would be plenty of line choices so passing would be possible.  Saturday morning, we arrived to the track with temperatures in the low 40's.  It had also rained more overnight.  When the green flag dropped I found myself grabbing another holeshot and I lead the pack into the woods.  This is 2 consecutive holeshots for this season and my 5th consecutive holeshot at this particular race over the years!  After a short first lap I checked in 1st place.  I knew throughout the race, smart lines and clear vision would be key.  On lap 2 I fell back to 2nd for only a few short miles where I regained the lead due to the leader making a mistake.  I lead the pack going into the 3rd lap.  I still maintained clear vision and my goggles were still holding up.  By the 4th lap another racer challenged me for the lead and I checked in 2nd.  I knew the last lap would be critical and at this point my goggles were completely covered.  I fell back to 3rd with 8 miles to go.  I was riding right behind 1st and 2nd.  With 6.5 miles to go the leader and 2nd got hung up in ruts behind a lap rider.  That's when I made my move and overtook the lead back!  I rode smart and as hard as I could to maintain the lead.  The checkered flag flew and I won the race!  I also won the overall race, placing ahead of over 250 total racers!  I can't express how stoked I am!  Thanks to all of you for your continued support and prayers!  The next race is May 28th at the John Penton Gncc in Athens Ohio
